Timber Ridge Camp At Timber Ridge we pride ourselves in the fact that we provide the most exciting and caring environment in the camping industry. Under the supervision of our qualified, diligent and nurturing staff, children blossom at camp. Timber Ridge is your child's home away from home. In 1955, Fred and Evelyn Greenberg started Timber Ridge Camp in the beautiful Shenandoah Mountains of West Virginia (only ninety miles from Washington, D.C.). Their vision was to provide a place where children from around the country and world could have new, exciting and unique experiences in a safe and caring environment. Today, Timber Ridge operates as a coed, ACA accredited camp, building on the foundation of our legacy to be considered one of the finest summer camps in the country. With over 50 successful summers under the same family ownership, many camps have emulated our programming and look towards Timber Ridge as the leader in the industry. Timber Ridge offers full and half sessions with individual free-choice programming for campers with every kind of interest. With over forty activities at Timber Ridge, our free-choice scheduling system allows children to pursue all of their goals. We have activities for every kind of camper – from flying circus trapeze and Broadway-style plays to water skiing, soccer, horseback riding and go karts. Timber Ridge campers are recognized as individuals and encouraged to pursue their goals through every experience. Our camp is ideally sized with roughly 200 children in each session. With this number of campers attending Timber Ridge, we truly know every child and they do not get ‘lost' in the numbers. While our largest contingent of campers comes from South Florida and the Baltimore-Washington areas, we are well represented with children from all around the country and world.
